Bonnie Jean Johnson, age 72, passed peacefully on April 13, 2024, in St. George, Utah. She was the daughter of Virgil and Verda Thamert and was born June 18, 1951, in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Bonnie actively supported children’s charities and animal protection groups. She loved communicating with and spending time with her four nieces. She dearly missed her two golden retrievers. Bonnie retired 10 years ago. She had worked for several organizations including the FDIC and legal firms.

She is survived by her siblings Larry (Lonnie) Thamert, Linda (John) Taylor, Barry (Connie) Thamert, Ben Thamert, and her four beloved nieces Natalie, Alissa, Paulina and Avery.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her father, Virgil Thamert; mother, Verda (Thamert) Nunley and stepfather, James Nunley.

A private family interment will be held at the Tonaquint Cemetery in St George. Memorial donations can be made in her name to the Best Friends Animal Sanctuary.

Bonnie’s services were entrusted to Affordable Funerals and Cremations of St George, Utah.
